High-end retailers line the streets of Knightsbridge, but few are quite so recognisable as the massive Harvey Nichols flagship store. Since the 19th century, department store outpost has provided Londoners with exclusive fashion, jewellery and accessories, and in 2025 it’s still going strong. So strong, in fact, that it’s about to get a massive makeover.

Plans to renovate the seven-floor Harvey Nichols location have been revealed, beginning with the ground floor which should be complete by September. Once all is said and done, it will be even more luxurious than before, and visiting the shop will be a shopping experience like no other – the brand is describing this as a ‘significant evolution’.

When it reopens, the ground floor will be built around an impressive jewellery collection, curated by the expert shoppers. It will also offer lifestyle and homeware products, but not just any old stuff you could find at John Lewis. These vases will be specially sculpted, the candles handmade, and the books will be collectible works of art. This is part of a wider restructuring on the floor, taking it in ‘a bold direction that blends fine and designer jewellery with a curated lifestyle offer’.

According to Harvey Nichols, this redesign will also bring bold, primary colours back inside the shop floor. As if that wasn’t enough to bring it new life, they’ll open up the previously blocked out windows to allow natural light in, and create a corner-window display to advertise pop-ups and new collections.

CEO Julia Goddard expressed her excitement for the redevelopment, saying; ‘Unveiling the first phase in the substantial redevelopment of our Knightsbridge flagship marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of our brand.

‘The ground floor will house a global destination for designer and fine jewellery, featuring a curated mix of established and emerging makers alongside exceptional lifestyle and design pieces.’
