The best hotels in Paddington, London for 2026

What better place to start a list of the best hotels in Paddington than the one that is literally in Paddington Station? Though that’s far from the only reason Hilton London Paddington deserves first place here. Originally built in 1854, you could call the interiors dated, but I’d say it has an old-world London charm about it, with a magnificent white façade that opens into a fantastically grand lobby and its historic central staircase. It’s also entirely unpretentious – guests were sinking pints and watching the World Cup in the lobby’s cocktail bar when we arrived, and the hotel’s restaurant serves British pub classics. But you can also opt for 24-hour room service instead – after all, Paddington isn’t exactly a dining destination, so you may as well skip the chains for something to eat here.

Time Out tip: There are budget-friendly options here, but for a splashier stay, book one of the newly-refurbed (and massive) Signature Executive King Rooms, which also gives you access to the Executive Lounge.

You’ll struggle to find many hotels as stylish as The Pilgrm, which combines throwback details such as polished parquet flooring and sturdy iron radiators with modern touches to create a warm, lived-in feel. There’s not a huge amount of space in this place, which is why wardrobes have been done away with in favour of wall rails, some rooms come with sinks by the bed and there’s no check-in desk. But if anything, this just adds to the hotel’s satisfyingly pared-back aesthetic.

Rooms are connected by a maze of corridors and hallways. Follow them for long enough and you’ll arrive at the first-floor lounge and terrace, where The Pilgrm serves an outstanding breakfast and brunch – we particularly enjoyed their spin on the Full English. Later in the day you can hang out and enjoy cocktails and snacks while curled up on one of the room’s cosy velvet sofas.

Time Out Tip: Grab an espresso from Workshop Coffee on the ground floor on your way out – they’re one of the city’s finest roasters

Get ready, because you're in the presence of a film star. Originally intended as an office block, the Royal Lancaster found fame with a starring role in The Italian Job alongside Michael Caine in 1969. Today, its biggest draw is its unbeatable position overlooking Hyde Park. Bowler-hatted doormen welcome guests on arrival, while the friendly team is full of local recommendations. There's a 24-hour gym for working up a sweat and a pet concierge service, so four-legged guests can enjoy strolls around the Serpentine just as much as you.

Take a journey into the future at Stylotel - and on a budget, too. This 2004 Paddington hotel has a post-millennium design scheme that looks and feels like…a spaceship. Or is it a submarine? Basically, the place is coated in metal. There are pleather seats in the reception area that look as though they could have been picked out by Captain Kirk. Still, as Stylotel’s manager Andreas points out, you might love or loathe the retro-futurist quirks here, but you can’t deny that it’s a clean and convenient resting place for travellers.

Just a seven-minute walk from Paddington Station, Wilde Hotel feels like a stylish home away from home. This smart aparthotel strikes the perfect balance between comfort and convenience, with each room featuring a well-equipped kitchenette for everything from a quick breakfast to a full-blown feast. There's also an on-site gym and bar, whether you're in the mood to work up a sweat or wind down with a drink. A handsome townhouse hotel with a calm atmosphere  and an emphasis on healthy living. There’s a gym, and a vegan restaurant, RAW, where even the afternoon tea is vegan. The design of the place is expensively simple, with lots of clean lines and quality fabrics. There’s also a pretty outdoor terrace where you can eat in fine weather. Wifi, a newspaper and breakfast are included in the price. The hotel is handily placed for Kensington Gardens.
