In 'stagrams: the enormous balloon installation in Covent Garden

Earlier this week we brought the news that an enormous balloon installation was coming to Covent Garden. And last night (Aug 27) Charles Petillon’s ‘Heartbeat’ was officially unveiled to the public.

Formed of 100,000 white balloons, lights within the sculpture pulse rhythmically. Hence ‘Heartbeat.’

Unlike Martin Creed's 2014 ‘Work No. 200 Half the air in a given space’, aka The Balloon Room, Londoners aren't able to frolic about in them. But they are pretty!
