The Hawk’s Nest is a twinkling woodland hideaway under the railway arches near Goldhawk Road tube that serves up pretty good cocktails and pizza. In the run-up to Christmas, it’ll be filled with independent traders selling everything from unique stocking fillers and stylish accessories to art, ceramics and jewellery. Look out for local artists selling prints and Christmas cards as well as baked goods and hot beverages to keep you cosy. After the market closes at 6pm, there’ll be a carol-singing session with live band – plus, lots of mulled wine.
A twinkling, woodland-themed hideaway under the arches by Goldhawk Road tube station, the Hawk’s Nest is a wonderfully atmospheric spot for some Christmas carol singing. Its popular annual carolling session features a live band promises lashings of mulled wine, spiced cider and £4 pints (a weekly occurence on Sundays) as well as a live band and lyrics sheets, just in case you can’t quite recall all nine verses of The First Noel. Head down early to check out the venue’s daytime Christmas market, or stay late for festive bites from the Italian kitchen.
Does a £150 bar tab sound like it might come in handy during December’s largesse? Then grab your smartest pals and head to cosy Shepherd’s Bush hideout The Hawk’s Nest for a special festive edition of its ever-popular weekly quiz hosted by comedian Jamie Allerton. The winning team will drink for the rest of the night, but even if your general knowledge falls short, you can make use of the venue’s excellent weeknight offer and grab a margarita (the cocktail) and a margherita (the pizza) for £14.50. Just get down nice and promptly so you have time to order before the quiz starts at 7pm.
