For the first time ever, the results of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants will be revealed in Hong Kong! Now in its 14th edition, the acclaimed list of the finest dining establishments in Asia will be hosted in our city on March 25, in partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
It is mind-boggling that 2026 only marks the first time that the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants ceremony will be held in our city – especially considering how many Hong Kong restaurants have made it onto the list in previous years. Hong Kong had an especially strong showing in last year’s rankings, with chef Danny Yip’s The Chairman snapping up second place and chef Vicky Cheng’s Wing following close behind in third for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. Caprice (No. 18), Neighborhood (No. 21), Mono (No. 24), Estro (No. 32), and Andō (No. 41) also made it into the top 50 results.
Elsewhere on the 50 Best scoreboards, Hong Kong had an impressive 2025 with a historic double win in the bar and hotel segments. Rosewood Hong Kong bagged first place on The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025, with Upper House Hong Kong (No. 10) and Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (No. 41) also making an appearance. Let’s not forget Bar Leone’s meteoric rise to the top – it was happily crowned No. 1 on both The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 and Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025. Could a similar honour at the top be coming for a Hong Kong establishment at this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants? We wouldn’t want to read into it as a foreshadowing of results to come, but if the shoe fits…
Despite the speculation, the location of the awards ceremony is no guarantee of results to come. For instance, Gaggan, which is located in Bangkok, was crowned No. 1 on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list, and the event was held in Seoul last year. However, with The Chairman and Wing being in the top three for Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025, we can’t help but get our hopes up that one of them might climb to first place.
Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 will be revealed on Wednesday, March 25, at Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong in Hung Hom. We’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed…
