Uber launches today (14 January 2026) Uber Ski in Finland, a new ride <option designed for travelling with winter sports gear. Trips are booked via the Uber app and operated with vehicles fitted with ski racks or with extra boot space for bulky equipment.

The service is aimed at both locals and travelers. Uber Ski is available in Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Kuusamo, Kuopio and Jyväskylä, covering key winter routes including:

  • From Helsinki to Talma, Lahti and Serena

  • From Rovaniemi to Pyhä

  • From Kittilä to Levi and Ylläs

  • From Kuusamo to Ruka

  • From Jyväskylä to Himos

‘Uber Ski works just as well for a trip to Lapland’s ski resorts, a day on nearby slopes, or getting around the city with winter gear,’ says Peter Löfstrand, Uber’s Head of the Nordics.

Resort operators in Levi, Ruka and Pyhä have also welcomed the launch.

‘Easy transport with winter equipment is essential. Services like Uber Ski make getting around simpler and give visitors more time to enjoy their stay,’ says Marko Mustonen, Commercial Director at Levi Ski Resort.

‘Smooth connections from nearby cities and their train stations and airports to ski resorts are a real benefit for our customers,’ adds Antti Kärävä, CEO of Ruka and Pyhä resorts.

What is Uber Ski?

Uber Ski has already become a popular option in Alpine destinations across Switzerland, Austria and France. Vehicles come equipped with a ski rack or platform that fits up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. If you’re travelling with more gear, you may need to book more than one car.

The service is particularly handy during peak season, when driving yourself or finding parking near the slopes can be a hassle. With Uber Ski, getting to and from the slopes is straightforward leaving more time for skiing and après-ski.

In partnership with White Winters

To mark the launch, Uber is partnering with the White Winters programme. The collaboration aims to improve access to winter mobility while promoting more sustainable travel in ski destinations helping to keep snowy winters around for generations to come.
