Every year, this iconic London hotel receives a magical Christmas transformation, courtesy of renowned designers. In 2021, ‘The Celestial Snow Globe’ by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior’s men’s collection, stole the show, while 2022 showcased a sculptural masterpiece designed by Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo. In 2023, Claridge’s teamed up with Louis Vuitton to create a towering 5.2m tree made entirely from two stacked wardrobe trunks. In 2024, it was the turn of Sir Paul Smith, whose 20-foot tree was festooned with more than 100 bespoke birdhouses, while last year Burberry’s Daniel Lee decorated the tree with hundreds of bows, the Victorian symbol of unity, made from Burberry fabric.

What’s in store for the Christmas design in 2026 is still under wraps but, if history’s any indicator, it’s sure to be a showstopper. There’s also a brilliant three-night Christmas package, including a visit from Father Christmas, carol singing, a horse-drawn carriage ride and Christmas lunch.

Best for: A christmas day feast

Fancy a big Christmas day brunch? Of course you damn do. And, the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze will serve up everything you could possibly dream of, buffet style. Looping tables of Italian festive desserts and heaps of seasonal dishes – could you want anything else on the big day?

Best for: Winter sun

A bit of winter sun is never a bad decision. So why not pack your suitcases and experience the heat this Christmas at Barceló Tenerife? This massive, 272-room hotel feels like a small town, with low buildings clustered around plant-filled courtyards and a river-like pool snaking through its centre. There’s everything you could possibly need here from an all-inclusive – and then some.

Barceló Tenerife is on the island’s sun-soaked southern coast, and is beautiful in a way that makes every effort to preserve its natural environment. Between clay-coloured buildings are cacti-studded patios and palm tree-filled courtyards, while interiors are shady and calm, full of rattan furnishings, wood and ceramics.

Best for: Soaking up Paris’s festive spirit

Best for: an affordable luxury stay

A luxury hotel centrally located in Krakow’s UNESCO-listed old town with a Michelin-recognised restaurant and excellent spa, Hotel Pod Różą offers affordable indulgence on a city break. The oldest hotel in Krakow, dating back to the 14th century, it was renovated in 2020 and retains its historic features, complemented with lots of very nice modern touches.

Best for: Having a Christmas market in your back garden
