This Gurugram export has settled comfortably into Malcha Marg, and the minimalist room, all clean lines and generous natural light, does exactly what it should: get the hell out of the food's way. In Delhi, it turns out that’s an easy way to gain city-wide fame, as far as breakfast goes.
Fig at Malcha runs a tight conscious-eating brief (local farms, GMO-free meat, cage-free eggs, daily-baked bread and pastries), which is a naturally great way to start your morning. Begin with the salmon carpaccio – cured well, plated beautifully, gone fast. The eggs benedict earns its signature-dish status. Later in the day, the shepherd's pie and prawn ceviche with avocado are absolutely worth the detour. And the rice paper rolls with oriental veg are fine, though the fact that they actually taste like fresh vegetables does a lot as a selling point in Delhi.
The specialty coffee? It’s had its moment on Instagram, and that’s not because it’s some aesthetic creme de la mumbo jumbo. It's really good, so give it a shot.
