Time Out says

The much loved Jing Jai Market is today transformed into a Valentine’s Day special event with a handmade Valentine’s market to stroll around (bonus points for buying a few gifts for your loved one and helping the economy) and nice food offerings. However, the main show must be the makeshift open-air cinema with romantic movies playing from sunset to 10pm. There’s also a number of creative workshops to add to the fun and for those who would rather define their love as a ‘situationship’, there’s even a love counselling booth that is there to help reignite that spark. ‘Tis the season, after all. Jing Jai Market. 4-10pm.

What’s on

Spin pottery or simply shop from the pros at Chiang Mai’s biggest ceramics festival

Chiang Mai’s creative scene fires up with Earthshine, a 10-day ceramic art festival taking over Jing Jai Market. More than 40 artists from Thailand, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Turkey, the US and the Netherlands are here to showcase their work in an exhibition that ‘celebrates clay in all its forms’ – think everything from design to beauty, practical use to hands-on tryouts. The Clayative Pop-Up Store is packed with handmade treasures, but with so much it’s best to browse with a coffee served in clay cups crafted just next door. With live demos, artist talks and endless inspiration, it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves art that gets under your nails. Nov 6-16. Free. Jing Jai Market. 10am-8pm
