Saturday, June 14 is World Gin Day, and if you need an excuse to go out for a drink (as if you did), here it is. The star spirit of modern mixology is celebrated in bars worldwide with original creations that blend tradition, botanicals, and lots of creativity.

In Buenos Aires, gin is more present than ever: local brands are growing, consumption is booming, and bars are shining with increasingly sophisticated recipes. To join the celebration, we selected eight gin cocktails created by some of the city’s best bartenders. Each has its own style, story, and magic. Ready to try them?

1. Kōnā – Gin Sonic

Belgrano has a Japanese gem: Kōnā, Inés De Los Santos’s bar inside Narda Lepes’s restaurant. Minimalist, elegant, and precise, this spot interprets Japanese subtlety in cocktail form like no other.

The pick? The Gin Sonic. It features Tanqueray, Junmai sake, tonic water, flower tincture, and a hibiscus foam floating atop the glass. Served in a tall glass with a carved ice bar that's a work of art. Light, fresh, and very drinkable, it’s inspired by mizuwari, classic Japanese cocktails “cut with water.” Perfect for starting the night with zen calm.

2. Boticario – Bee’s Knees

A Palermo classic with a retro apothecary vibe: that’s Boticario. Its story goes back to an old pharmacy, and its bar, led by Florentina Blanco, is pure creative lab.

The recommendation? Bee’s Knees, a seemingly simple cocktail but full of intention: Salvador gin (Old Tom style, crafted by the bar itself with 10 local botanicals), lemon, and honey. Garnished with rosemary to enhance its herbal side and, as they say, good for coughs, digestion, and even lifting spirits. Health and flavor in equal parts.

3. Secuaz – A Mythical French

This sparkling cocktail from Secuaz captures the essence of French refinement with a fresh, creative twist. Served in a champagne glass, clean and sparkling, it offers a delicate nose with jasmine floral aromas and fruity sweetness of peach.

On the palate, London Dry gin converses with green jasmine cordial and an unexpected lacto-fermented peach that adds subtle saltiness enhancing every nuance. The bubbles add an effervescent texture that elevates the experience, while peach meringue and strawberry gel balance sweetness and acidity in a finish of pure elegance.

A sensory proposal that stylishly reinterprets French classics.

4. Cochinchina – Es mui japo

Since opening, Cochinchina has become one of the city’s most awarded and sought-after bars. It’s listed in the World’s 50 Best Bars, and its creative, elegant, worldly cocktails never cease to amaze.

The cocktail? Es mui japo. Tanqueray gin, Doburoku sake, mirin cordial, and homemade wasabi crisp to accompany each sip. Sweet, creamy, with unexpected textures. A sensory journey that combines the best of traditional Japan with the irreverent twist of Inés De Los Santos.

5. Sofá – A Collins

This Sofá version of the Collins elevates the classic to another level with sophistication that’s evident at first glance. Served in a tall glass with crystal-clear ice, inviting a fresh and bright drink. The aroma reveals herbal and fruity fragrance, with a green, vegetal hint that foreshadows its personality.

The first sip bursts with bubbles that lift the aromas, enhancing the London Dry gin with vibrant notes of green apple, umami, and a vegetal touch of celery, rounded off by subtle kale bitterness and the floral freshness of Sauvignon Blanc.

The contrast comes from the kale crisp that accompanies it, adding texture and a perfect multisensory play to be enjoyed slowly.

6. Gordo Chanta – Gimlet

If you haven’t yet descended to the basement of Gordo Chanta, you’re missing something important. There is Zona de Producción, a bar that distills its own ingredients with a rotary evaporator—yes, like in a lab—to achieve unique flavors.

What you must try? The Gimlet. Homemade gin distilled with Santa Rita petals, huacatay, fig tree, and other botanical rarities. Mixed with lime and syrup to create a reinvented classic, with floral aroma, herbal flavor, and pink color. A simple drink, but with science behind it.

7. Costa 7070 – From Cachi to the Mediterranean

On the renewed Costanera, Costa 7070 shines with an impressive bar and a signature menu that pairs wonderfully with Pedro Bargero’s Mediterranean dishes. Inés De Los Santos’s project was chosen by TIME as one of the places of the year worldwide. And it’s no coincidence.

The cocktail you have to order? From Cachi to the Mediterranean. Gin with fat wash of Salteño paprika, calvados, herbal vermouth, and crystal-clear ice. An intense and aromatic drink with a strong local identity. Like a road trip in a glass: from Salta to the French Riviera nonstop.

8. Víctor Audio Bar – 50/50 Martini

At Víctor Audio Bar, the classic Martini is reinvented in its 50/50 version—half gin, half vermouth—with a dry, saline, and sophisticated balance that makes it accessible and memorable. Served in a glass accompanied by a small pitcher with the remaining portion, chilled on ice so every sip keeps the ideal temperature and perfect balance.

Optional garnishes—extra olive, citrus peel, and pickled onion—allow discovering different flavor layers and personalizing the experience.
A carefully crafted ritual, designed for Martini lovers who enjoy every step of the drink.
