Time Out says

What it lacks in size, this century-old zoo makes up for in personality. Set on 26 acres in Stoneham and a sister location to the Franklin Park Zoo, this spot lets visitors stroll the tree-lined paths to view animals from A(rctic fox) to Z(ebu). Favorites to watch are the Mexican Gray Wolf roaming around the outdoor habitat, while inside the Animal Discovery Center, you’ll find small things that slither. Be sure to check out the pretty-in-pink flamingo cove.

What’s on

Bourbon and BBQ at the Stone Zoo

The summer heats up for the 21+ crowd at Stone Zoo on June 21 from 6-8 pm with the first-ever Bourbon and BBQ at the Zoo. You’ll enjoy a full barbecue feast, bourbon and whiskey tastings (there will be refreshing mocktails as well), lawn games, and up-close animal encounters. Stroll the zoo with a drink in hand and explore the wild side of Stone Zoo after hours. You'll also find a variety of other spirits to sample, including rye, gin, and vodka. Proceeds support Stone Zoo's education and conservation initiatives.
