Beyoncé Block Party

Beyoncé gets the full block-party treatment on Gloucester Street this September, with five hours of music dedicated to her catalog and a crowd that presumably knows the words before the first beat drops. The timing gives the celebration an extra reason to show up: it marks Beyoncé’s birthday and the 20th anniversary of B’Day. DJs DJ Thickk and DJ Frenchy will handle the soundtrack, moving through songs from “Crazy in Love” and “Déjà Vu” to “Formation” and “Texas Hold ’Em,” while hosts Chanel Thee Angel and Zon Legacy Phoenix keep things moving. Dani’s will be open throughout the day for food and drinks, too. It’s a 21+ event running from 1 to 6pm. If you know your deep cuts from your radio singles, this is a particularly easy afternoon to get behind.
