Review
Cubbon Park feels communal without ever feeling crowded. Even before sunrise, the paths begin to fill: runners tracing familiar loops, dog parents negotiating tug-of-war routines, cyclists pedalling past bamboo clusters, and sleepy students clutching flasks of home-brewed filter coffee. Where you might expect a big manicured lawn, you’ll instead find a patchwork of wooded pockets, trails, and sudden clearings with personalities of their own.
It’s also one of the easiest places to explore, thanks to multiple entry points and direct metro access. In the middle sits the iconic red State Central Library, and the Bal Bhavan for kids.
Whether you’re here to clock steps, read a book, clear your head, or simply sit in the shade and do nothing, the park is a great choice for a slow day.
The vibe
Calm, leafy, grounding.
The highlight
The mix of open lawns and wooded trails that feel miles away from city life.
Time Out tip
Pick an early slot and watch the light change through the trees. Weekend mornings sometimes close inner roads to vehicles, making the park incredibly walkable.
