This year’s event is going down across the weekends of November 7-8 and 14-15, with thousands of sales set to pop up across the country. From vintage clothes to classic cookbooks, cult vinyl and rare Lego, Aussies willing to hit the streets will get their hands on some pretty special treasures. If you're roaming through your suburb on the weekend, you'll likely stumble on a garage sale or two, but if you want to plan your shopping spree – coffee breaks included – be sure to check out this virtual map.
The Garage Sale Trail started with two Sydney mates, Andrew and Dazz, who decided they would set up a secondhand stall at a local event in Bondi. Fast-forward 16 years, and 4 million Australians have sold or shopped at more than 134,000 garage sales nationwide – saving 7.2 million items from landfill and making sellers $52 million.
This year marks the last-ever Garage Sale Trail, with more than 1,000 sales already registered across the country and thousands more to come.
