🆕 What’s new on Netflix in November 2025

1. Nouvelle Vague (Netflix)

Richard Linklater goes behind-the-scenes of the most influential film of the French New Wave, 1960’s Breathless. Shot in black-and-white with a 4:3 aspect ratio, it looks to replicate the freewheeling energy of the Jean-Luc Godard classic, with a host of contemporary French actors portraying major nouvelle vague figures including Francois Truffaut, Agnès Varda and Jacques Rivette, which will have cinephiles doing the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme on repeat. 2. Eddington (HBO Max)

One of the most divisive films of the year, Ari Aster’s oil-black comedy- thriller is most definitely not for everybody, but if you’re willing to revisit the horror show of 2020, it serves as a brutally honest depiction of America’s current shared psychosis. Joaquin Phoenix is a conspiratorial sheriff in a small New Mexico town who, at the height of both the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests, decides to challenge the smug neoliberal incumbent (Pedro Pascal) in a mayoral election, driving himself to the edge of madness. 3. Freakier Friday (Disney+)

Lindsay Lohan returns to her second most beloved franchise, along with Jamie Lee Curtis. This time around, Anna (Lohan) is a mother herself, and about to blend families with her fiancé, Jake (Chad Michael Murray). Sounds like a familiar situation, which begs the question: how many body swaps can a person take? That can’t be good for the internal organs. Read Time Out's review.

4. Come See Me in the Good Light (Apple TV)

Ryan White, director of several acclaimed documentaries including Netflix’s The Keepers, helmed this portrait of poet Andrea Gibson, their battle with ovarian cancer and its effect on their relationship with partner Megan Falley. It’s a life-affirming heart-punch of a doc about love persevering in the face of death.

5. In Your Dreams (Netflix)

In this Pixar-ish adventure from Alex Woo, one of the studio’s veteran animators, two siblings travel into the land of dreams in search of the Sandman, an Oz-like figure with the power to save their parents’ crumbling marriage. Well, that got intense pretty quickly. Craig Robinson, Simu Liu and Cristin Milioti lend their voices.
